History
The Strawberry Battery is a coastal artillery fortification located on the eastern side of Halifax Harbour. Established in the 18th century, it helped form the defensive chain protecting ships entering the port from potential invasion.
Landmark
Remnants of the earthworks and gun platforms are still visible, marking the battery’s importance in securing the harbour during both colonial conflicts and later military exercises. The site provides an authentic glimpse into Halifax’s maritime defences.
